Teachers incorporate the knowledge, understanding and skills that they are expected to teach and students are expected to learn, from The Australian Science Curriculum into our inquiry units. The Science Curriculum has three inter-related strands: Science Understanding, Science as Human Endeavour and Science Inquiry Skills. Together the three strands provided the understanding knowledge and skills through which students can develop a scientific view of the world. Students are challenged to explore science, its concepts, nature and uses through clearly described inquiry processes. The Science Understanding strand comprises four sub strands: Biological sciences, Chemical Sciences, Earth and Space Sciences and Physical Sciences. At CWSC learning experiences challenges students to be curious, ask questions, explore and interact with the environment physically, socially and intellectually in order to construct meaning and refine their understanding.
