Charles Weston School
Charles Weston School, situated in the Molonglo Valley, is the newest of Canberra’s public schools. The school opened for the start of the 2016 school year.
The school caters for students from the new suburbs of Coombs, Wright and Denman Prospect and it also provides the first community facilities for residents of Molonglo Valley. It provides a range of community use facilities such as community meeting rooms, a school hall & sports court with community storage areas and a community oval. As the latest addition to the Canberra public school system Charles Weston School provides a positive contemporary learning environment staffed with highly qualified and dedicated teachers and staff. We value and encourage parents, carers and members of the local community to be actively engaged with the learning programs of students and the planning of the school.
The schools feature learning spaces for preschool to year 6 students, a resource centre, school administration and canteen, out of hours school care facilities and outdoor learning and play areas. The school also has specific facilities for music and environmental science.

Year 5/6 win Order of Australia Citizenship Award
Posted on 24 Nov 2017
On Thursday 24 November our Year 5/6 students were awarded an Order of Australia Association Student Citizenship award. This is a result of a group they set up called CWSC Water Raisers which raised enough money to provide a community in Laos with 2 years of clean drinking water.
We are very proud of our students and what they have achieved.
Want to help year 5/6 with their leadership project?
Posted on 29 Aug 2017
One of our recent inquiry units looked at people's access to safe drinking water. This unit had a big impact on the Year 5/6 group and they began to think of ways they could help. After the iinspire conference, students created a mini-business called CW Water Raisers. The aim is to raise money for a charity called Abundant Water which helps people who live in Laos, Nepal and the Philippines. Students are aiming to raise $1000 for the charity which will give clean drinking water to 250 people for a whole year.
